Luggage & Packing
Travel Gear
Packing light for your trip is essential for a smooth and enjoyable travel experience. Carrying only the essentials in thoughtfully chosen luggage allows travellers to move more freely, reduces stress, and makes navigating busy urban environments and public transportation much easier.
Here are some key points to consider:
Small personal bag: Keeps valuables, documents, and quick-access items close by, providing security and convenience.
Backpack: Offers quick access to necessities during day trips or other outings.
Small suitcase: Holds essential items without adding bulk, making it easier to manage.
Packing cubes: Organize clothing and accessories efficiently, allowing for easy retrieval without unpacking everything.
Packing Lists
On your trip you’ll meet two kinds of travellers:
those who pack light and those who wish they had.
Small Suitcase
We travel with a compact carry-on roller bag that meets our preferred airline’s size restrictions, accompanied by a backpack as our personal item. This light packing strategy allows us to move comfortably on planes and trains, as well as when navigating uneven street/sidewalk surfaces. Using large suitcases can make getting on/off trains and planes very stressful.
Suitcase Criteria:
Carry-on size: Always double-check specific airline sizing guidelines.
Durable design: Two-wheeled roller with recessed wheels provides better stability and durability across a range of surfaces.
Lightweight suitcase: A lighter bag allows for easier handling. If the suitcase becomes too heavy, plan to shift some weight into your personal item for balance.
